Solar Panels will keep the Guilford College dorm in hot water
Guilford College recently announced that they fully converted the heating in their dormitory to be powered Solar Panel Energy. This solar project costs $30,000 and is estimated to save the college more than $83,000 in electricity bills. The system is powerful enough to produce hot water for 9 family houses and will save the environment the population of about 9 cars.
This project is partly sponsored by the students who organized special Green Fund in order to help their school build more environmentally clean projects.
The Guilford College is also exploring the possibility of using geothermal energy to heat and cool its Archdale Hall, which is scheduled for renovation...
Nowadays many schools are looking into solar power as a good long term money saver and this is great. The educational institutions are always the best way to implement new technology into our society and we strongly support the Guilford College's efforts in going environmental.
